Privacy Policy

Baligh is built on one principle: your texts never leave your computer except to a provider you explicitly choose. This policy explains what is collected, why, and where it is kept. Data controller: Mahmoud Mohamed Hosny Mohamed Emam.
Your texts
- With local models (Ollama, LM Studio, or the built-in measurement models), your texts are processed on your computer and sent nowhere.
- With a cloud provider you add with your own key (such as Anthropic or Google), the text to be processed is sent to that provider only, under its privacy policy. It does not pass through us.
- Your history, style profile and sources are stored on your computer in an encrypted database. We have no copy.

Neither the app nor the website contains ads, trackers or analytics.
Purchase and license data
- Lemon Squeezy (merchant of record) collects payment and billing data under its own policy. We receive your email, name, country and order and subscription details. We never see your card.
- The license server stores your email, a hash of your license key and its last four characters (not the key itself), plan and term, the activated device's fingerprint, OS type and activation dates, and the fingerprint of each device that started a free trial (to prevent repeats). It runs on Cloudflare.
- Student verification: your university email and a temporary verification code, stored hashed. A student card photo, if you send one, is deleted after review.
- Email: license, code and reminder emails are sent through Zoho ZeptoMail; support correspondence through Zoho Mail.
Why we use it
To deliver and activate your license and prevent misuse, send emails about your subscription, answer support requests, and meet accounting obligations. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Retention
We keep license data for the subscription and 24 months after it ends for accounting and support, then delete it. Fingerprints of devices that started a trial are kept to prevent repeats and do not identify you.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, its correction or its deletion (deletion ends the license) by writing to support@baligh.app. The data on your computer is fully under your control, and you can delete it when you uninstall the app.
The website
baligh.app is static pages on Cloudflare, with no cookies and no analytics. Cloudflare may keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses) to protect the site.
